The Wild Car…or the car that makes you go wild?!
One of the most popular vehicles for driving in the mountain is the Hummer. The Hummer was first launched in the market in 1993 and it has been recommended by many users. There are different models of this brand of vehicle such as Hummer H1, Hummer H2 and Hummer H3 SUV wagon. Each of these models is well equipped to take you to pretty much any mountain top. Hummer vehicles are known for their gigantic size and unique look. They are categorized as heavy-duty vehicles because of their weight. Any vehicle that weighs above 8 500 pounds is classified under heavy-duty vehicles’ class. Most of the heavy-duty vehicles run on diesel, so we can say that many of them are in fact fuel efficient. This pertains to the all civilian off-road Hummers. The cruising range of Hummer is 400 miles with 30-40 mph across a hard surface as well as rolling terrain. This versatile vehicle has made a big impact on both military applications and civilian lifestyle. It is one of the best off-road / mountain vehicles one can choose. Many Americans love it simply because it is the American’s Army automobile and they are intrigued by its power, size and design. This vehicle can take you anywhere, no doubt about it.
Volkswagen Touareg is another vehicle made for driving in the mountain. It was introduced on the market in 2004 and ever since has been a preferred choice for many German car lovers.. This vehicle is specially made for off-road and mountain driving. It combines efficiency with comfort. It has been built to give users maximum comfort while driving up the mountain, crawling muddy or rugged terrains. Touareg’s body stiffness or dynamic rigidity makes it possible for the car to climb high mountain tops and go back down with ease. It is a 4WD low range gearing, which helps the car to tackle rough terrains with no trouble.
Jeeps, yes that’s what they are made for!
If you are looking for vehicles that are made for driving in the mountains, then you have to consider buying any of the jeeps available in the market. There are different brands and models of jeeps such as Jeep Wrangler, Jeep Liberty, Cherokee jeeps and others, so you have quite a few to choose from. Each of these jeeps has different models. The newer models are usually better, but even an older model will handle perfectly any road in the mountains. It is just that some newer models have more advanced features. GPS is for example one such feature that in most cases is a must have when going in the wild. Here we will single out Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon 4×4.
Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon 4×4 retains the fabulous look and higher performance qualities of the initial military vehicle. The jeep is a little higher than the normal vehicles, but that’s part of its beauty. The exterior design of the jeep coupled with its body stiffness makes it good for driving in the mountain. It also offers maximum comfort to the driver and its passengers.
Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland 4×4 - Jeeps define the off-road vehicles and the Cherokee basically continues the tradition. Many don’t like both the exterior and the interior, but this vehicle is made to take you rough roads, not to please the eye. It is a midsize Jeep SUV with 4WD system and electronic stability program and four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes. It is virtually ready to hit any type of road.
Mercedes-Benz G-Class could possibly holds some of the first positions if we have to rate the best off-road vehicle, but we will refrain from ratings here. This box on wheel gets the job done well and the brand name just makes many people go for this ride. The G-Class is a V8 luxury off-roader. You can easily navigate up to 36 degrees grades with any one with the G in front. The G500 has 292 horse powers and the G55 AMG tackles the mountains with its 469 horse powers. It is as Mercedes says “engineered to overcome virtually any obstacle.”
Volvo XC70…and the Swedish finally offered an SUV and it paid off. This stylish off-road vehicle quickly became a solution for many Volvo lovers. The XC70 is an all seasons car with a big cargo space and a superior reputation for safety. It is a great off-road car with a great look, five cylinder engine fully equipped and ready for riding in the wild.
Nissan Xterra – “Everything you need and nothing you don’t.” This is the one off roader that has become a lifestyle for many. It can handle any off road as well as (and even better) as many other of its competitors. The Xterra comes with six-speed manual transmission and manual (yes that’s right) locks and windows. This vehicle will surely help you face the nature’s jagged roads and will get you in touch with your own hardcore self.
Subaru Forester - a compact SUV that debuted in the late 1990s. According to many it is one of the best sport-utility vehicles coming from the Japanese automakers. The Forester is essentially a tall station wagon with AWD that offers the SUV features and the carlike ride feel. Thanks to this duality the Forester handles any roads better the average SUV. The newest models are roomier and offer more upscale interior. This car definitely stands out among all the Japanese models and in recent years has become a preferred buyers choice when it comes to SUV suited for both on and off road traveling.
This is our list and it is only meant to guide you. We love cars and these beasts here are often the preferred choice You make your choice based on…well your opinion, experience, influencers and preferences.
