Almost every day Montway is shipping classic cars from one place to another with care, so it is no surprise that we take interest in Barrett-Jackson. If you haven’t heard of it before, Barrett-Jackson is the “world’s greatest collector car auction” and they aren’t kidding around with that title! During the month of April, with nearly 55,000 people in attendance at their annual Palm Beach auction, Barrett-Jackson raked in more than $21 million in gross sales and $1.8 million in charity. Clearly the proof is in the monetary pudding! Since we are shipping classic cars on a daily basis, it’s only right to find some time to talk about the greatest collector car auction in the world.

Barrett-Jackson was founded in 1971 by classic car enthusiasts Nellie Jackson, her husband Russ Jackson and Co-Founder Tom Barrett. Since the first auction in its founding year, Barrett Jackson has grown leaps and bounds. Currently under the leadership of Jackson’s son Craig Jackson, the chairman/chief executive officer, the auction has expanded to the Palm Beach, Las Vegas and Reno-Tahoe areas.

So what exactly does Barrett-Jackson offer its customers?

  1. They have an online presence like no other. When offering to consign your collector car, Barrett Jackson swears by their ability to provide “the most aggressive advertisement campaign in the industry.”
  2. Their quality service and expertise in the collector car consignment attracts the most motivated buyers and sellers from around the globe.
  3. Everything Barrett-Jackson offers seems like it could make the process of buying or selling a collector car just a bit easier.
  4. There are also no worries in getting your vehicle to or from the auction. Auto shipping companies like Montway offer classic car shipping at rates that don’t break the bank! They ship nationwide and would take great care of your classic car sale and/or purchase as we have in the past.

Simply put, Barrett-Jackson says they are all about getting their consignment customers top dollar for their collector cars. The top seller at their recent auction in Palm Beach- a 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Convertible- sold for $1,000,000 with proceeds from the sale going to the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute at Wayne State University in Detroit, Mich.

Attending a Barrett-Jackson auction is unlike any other event. It’s a high-society experience. Not only does the company auction collector cars, but according to their website they also offer collector car insurance and a first class restoration system for your vehicle.

The Palm Beach auction already took place, but don’t worry if you weren’t able to make it. Barrett-Jackson has another event coming up in August of this year in Reno-Tahoe, Nev. Vendors are encouraged to apply for vending space and if you want to offer you vehicle up for consignment you might want to consider getting that application in now. If you need to get your car to the auction, think about using an auto transport company like Montway to do it for you!
