Let’s be honest here, deciding how exactly to ship your automobile is almost as important as deciding which shipper to use. But fortunately, once you get past the time and place decisions (i.e. Terminal-to-Terminal Transport vs. Door-to-Door Delivery) There are only two basic methods-means of vehicle transport: open car carriers and enclosed or covered auto transporters.
Which One To Choose?
And obviously, they’re used for the same purposes. So when you’re making a decision between booking an open car mover or an enclosed auto shipper, the thing to think about is what type of vehicle will be going on the transporter’s truck. Covered Transporters and Enclosed Transport is best reserved for vehicles with low ground clearance, vehicles with exposed interiors and of course for classic, high-end, exotic or luxury automobiles.

Open Car Transport
Open car carriers by comparison are easy to know when to use in that they’re standard auto transporters for vehicles with standard car shipping needs. Now that’s not to say that your particular automotive baby isn’t a prized possession that deserves the best possible care, but rather an observation closer to note that an 18 year-old and a 50-year-old have different travel comfort needs.
Just as an average 18-year-old would be perfectly snug and comfortable in any youth hostel, your average Jeep Wrangler would arrive safely and securely at your door after a move atop an open car carrier. Your average high-end Audi by contrast might require the same first-class travel arrangements to ensure its safe arrival.
